International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements (IFOAM)
IFOAM is the worldwide umbrella organization for the organic movement, uniting more than 750 member organizations in 108 countries.
Organic trade is a rapidly growing reality all over the world. The growth rates of the organic sector demonstrate that organic products are moving from the “niche” and entering mainstream markets. The total land under certified organic production worldwide has reached over 26 Million hectares. IFOAM is at the center of this development.

The Organic-World.net website supports the global data collection on organic agriculture carried out by FiBL (Research Institute of Organic Agriculture) and IFOAM, the results of which are annually published in the yearbook The World of Organic Agriculture.
Canada’s Organic Products Regulations (COPR)
As of June 30, 2009, Canada’s Organic Products Regulations require mandatory certification to the revised National Organic Standard for agricultural products represented as organic in international and inter-provincial trade, or that bear the federal organic agricultural product legend (or federal logo). On June 17, 2009, the Government of Canada entered into an agreement on the trade of organic products with the United States.
